Appearance
Project health probe
Cadence: Ad hoc · Who: Managers and Owners
Situation
Something about a specific project is nagging you. A team member mentioned it. The pace forecast flagged it. A client asked a question. You want everything in one read — hours, team, recent entries, deadline, anything unresolved — without clicking through five views.
Example phrasings
- "how's the Acme rebuild looking"
- "status of project X"
- "deep dive on the Bluebird retainer"
What VERA returns
Project header
Name, Client, Type, Status, PM, Deadline (if set).
Budget vs actuals
| Hours used | Hours budget | % used | Revenue | Cost | Margin |
Revenue/cost/margin role-gated — Owners see the numbers, Managers see percentages.
Team and allocation
Per allocated person: Name, Allocated hours, Logged hours, Remaining. Flags anyone who's burned through their envelope.
Recent activity
The last 10 time entries: Date, Person, Hours, Notes.
Flags
- Any pace warnings from the rolling 3-week burn trend
- Any unresolved items affecting this project
- Vendor liabilities on the project, with agreed amount and status
For retainers and agile engagements, the probe targets the active period by default. Ask for a parent view explicitly ("show me the whole Acme retainer history") to see all periods.
Who can run it
- Owners — any project, full view
- Managers — their assigned projects, percentages only on financials
